Are we getting the picture yet? A Chinese style fire wall. These are not mistakes they are deliberate. They don’t want us to have any privacy.

The Canadian Civil Liberties Association has come out strongly against C-36, as well as C-22 (with Citizen Lab) and C-34. For what it's worth the Canadian Constitution Foundation has petitions against C-22 and C-34; I anticipate C-36 shortly, though in a majority government I'm not sure much can be done outside the courts.

The impact of these three pieces of legislation individually on Canadians is incredibly negative but together they fundamentally shift the landscape of privacy and freedom of expression.
