The CRTC did not want to wait for final Bill C-11 policy direction from the government and did not want to give Canadians a reasonable opportunity to have their say. This is the result.
I remember following this issue of Bill C-11 on Vass Bednar’s former twitter account however my read was skeptical about it like ly being just a benign change in algorithms to focus more on Canadian Content. I considered the issue seriously and even wrote email letters to all the senators before assent without one response. I conducted at that time a twitter poll of how many Canadians trusted our Senate and sadly and overwhelmingly 95% of the 2108 respondents polled voted No. Little wonder many Canadians would like the Senate abolished.

At least the Senate put in some amendments on Bill C-11.
Our Nazi applauding House of Commons make no changes and voted out the Senate amendments.
