The Senator might exert her influence to regulate CSIS's habit of placing hidden cameras in the home security systems of women (especially lesbians) who have never been charged with a crime but who, for their political opinions, have been placed on terrorist watch lists....thus creating State-sanctioned pornography abused and traded by police, corporations, CSIS, Palantir, Carbyne, Amazon's Cloud, Neurolink, Lockheed Martin, L3, Google, and the Five Eyes. This State-sanctioned pornography is permanently uploaded to her digital twin for everyone to see in perpetuity.

Bill S-210 is a Trojan Horse which threatens to further eviscerate our Charter rights of privacy, free speech and the protection against unreasonable searches and seizures.

Surveillance Capitalism, Technocracy and Five Eyes ubiquitous surveillance increasingly vacuum up our personal data which is monetized and weaponized against whistle-blowers like me for exposing the crimes of public officials and their public-private partners.

Before the Internet, young kids used to secretly indulge in the porn magazines of their dads' hidden away in the basement. This is not new and it is normal behaviour.

Bill S-210 is another node in our open-air digital panopticon for full-spectrum dominance of every Canadian. This bill is repugnant to the Constitution. Canadians (including Leftists like me) are unwilling to allow the Government to violate our rights including mandating us to submit to 2 doses of modified mRNA Gene Therapy platform injections which change gene expression under threat of job loss.

Thank you for your vital oversight, Professor Geist.

Very important discussion and it's staggering to see how irresponsibly the Senator disregards the seriously slippery slope that she's hoping to set up. I thank you for your ability to not only reach out to such voices, but to be able to take the time to ask them difficult questions in a fair way. You're an inspiration!

I sincerely hope this bill doesn't pass.

I just listened to this yesterday. Had to mull it over before posting, but, have come to this conclusion. The Senator bringing this Bill is either lacking logic, or is particularly malicious towards privacy rights for Canadian citizens.

By simply stating "content that is currently lawful, will continue to be lawful, provided that it changes what it is, and complies with this new law", she would make her point much clearer, and it would still be wrong.

As a business owner who advertises online as a large part of what I do, this legislation would be devastating to my target demographic. I can't imagine anyone over the age of 30 is going to want to scan their Government issued ID to go on Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, Twitter, or any other platforms, just in the off chance that they may come across content that may not be censored, and the off chance that parent's have a blind spot to it, for their kids.

To me, it also seems particularly malicious to name it as it is. You put the people who are in charge of reviewing it, judging it, and approving it on the defensive, rather than having the person presenting the Bill have to prove it's value. Making people look bad for using logic is a dangerous road to go down, and I hope our Government does better than this.

Truly, an embarrassing and dangerous time to live in Canada.
